Finding sanctuary in nature, I escape the holiday chaos by visiting national parks or taking tranquil walks in local green spaces. The grandeur of the earth puts everything into perspective, and simple acts like deep breathing amidst nature can ground and heal us.

The holidays can be tough, especially for those of us dealing with broken families, recent heartaches, or feelings of isolation. I’ve been there myself. My past holiday seasons have often been filled with longing and sadness – whether it’s coping with the aftermath of a divorce or facing the loneliness in what’s supposed to be the happiest time of the year.

This year, being close to my sister during the holidays gives me a bit of hope and companionship amidst all the seasonal sadness.
